Founded in 1964 in Kansas City by traveling instrument salesmen Merrill Jones and George Wingert, starting with a single piece by composer Claude T. Smith, who remained their flagship composer until his death in 1987. Grew into a nationally known concert-band publisher; sold by J.W. Pepper to Excelcia Music Publishing in 2021.
