Formed in 1957 alongside United Artists Records. Absorbed the storied Robbins-Feist-Miller "Big Three" catalog from MGM in 1973. Its publishing arm was retained by parent Transamerica when UA Records was sold to EMI in 1979, later passing to MGM/UA (1981) and CBS Records (1983), whose publishing division EMI Music Publishing acquired in 1989.
