Jerome H. Remick bought Detroit's Whitney Warner Publishing Co., then founded Jerome H. Remick & Co. in 1906. It became the largest Tin Pan Alley publisher of its era -- a young George Gershwin worked there as a song plugger -- before being absorbed into the Warner Bros. lineage in 1929.
