Founded in 1936 in Chicago by Neil A. Kjos Sr. as a one-room sheet-music operation. Neil Jr. took over in 1969 and relocated the company to San Diego by 1985. Still independent and family-owned today, run by third-generation family members Mark and Tim Kjos; best known for the Standard of Excellence band method.
