Founded in 1976 by Art Jenson, who had earlier worked for Charles Hansen Publications and co-founded Learning Unlimited (a Hal Leonard division) before striking out on his own. Grew into a major educational band/choral publisher; sold to Hal Leonard in 1989, where Jenson stayed on to help create the Essential Elements band method.
